Adults are human or other animal that is at the full growth.The biological definition of the word means an animal reaching sexual maturity and thus capable of reproducing. Within the human realm, adult refers to social and legal concepts. Contrary to the concept of a non-adult or "minor" legally adult is a person who has reached the age of majority. They are considered to be an independent, self-sufficient person and accountable. Legal adults can also be referred to as a major. 18 years is considered an adult legal age but the definition of adulthood can vary by country, legal rights or mental development.

The age of adulthood marks the point that an individual has reached maturity in terms of both physical and mental growth. Commonly, adulthood begins around age 21, or 20. Middle age, commencing approximately 40 years of age then follows by the age of 60 years old. In adulthood there are three distinct stages early adulthood (18-30 years), Middle Adulthood (30-60 year olds) and Late adulthood (60%-60%). At the beginning phases of adulthood (between 20 and 40), our bodies are at their peak of maturity, even though our weight and height may rise slightly. Physical capabilities peak in young adulthood. It includes strength of muscles and reflex speed, as well as senses, and heart functioning.
